This week, our guest judge is Mandi Gubler from Vintage Revivals.
This isn’t Mandi’s first time visiting us over at The CSI Project. She’s joined us before with guest tutorials, like this one for ultra-quick board and batten.
If you haven’t taken the opportunity to check out Mandi’s Vintage Revivals before, then we recommend that you run–not walk–over there immediately to see what you are missing.
Not only does Mandi have a fresh, fun voice, but she has an AMAZING list of DIY projects under her belt. Before we feature some of those, let’s hear a little more about Mandi, in her own words.
My name is Mandi and I am a stay at home momma of 2 beautiful/slightly crazy girls. I have been married for 8 years to my hero and totally hot husband Courtney. I live in Southern Utah and sweat to death about 70% of the year. I have been called the MacGyver of DIYers. I will gladly accept that title. When I see something that I want I have to attempt to make it. It’s way more fun that way.
Let’s get Mandi to tell us a little more about that.
The way that I define Thrift Shop Glam:
Going to your favorite Thrift store, craigslist, garage sales, and the curb and finding awesome and completely random junk. Taking it home and refinishing, refreshing, and repurposing it. Its an eclectic and eccentric mix of things that wouldn’t normally be put together.
It’s for those of us that like old worn out stuff that others would not even give a second glance.
It’s distressed furniture that’s funky colors.
It’s being unique and having things that no one else does.
It’s putting something in your house BECAUSE YOU LIKE IT! Not worrying if it “goes” perfectly. (You can always paint it!)
It’s spending more $ on the paint than the actual piece of furniture.
It’s letting your creativity be the driving force.
It’s chandy’s, baroque frames, strange figurines, old wood, and lots and lots of spray paint.
It’s a hodge podge of junk that makes you happy!
That’s a perfect definition, Mandi! We love it! And we love the way Mandi incorporates that style in her own home. Take a look at some of her projects that are our personal favorites:
Fabulous Coral Dresser
Unbelievable Tin Foil Nightstand
Stunning End Table Makeover
DIY Zebra Rug (you have to see it to believe it!)
In fact, he’s featured her home, and you can visit the Nate Berkus Show website for the photo tour of Mandi’s home.
We’re so excited to have Mandi joining us as guest judge for our Garage Sale Finds and Makeovers Challenge! We know she is going to love seeing your projects and visiting your blogs. Make sure you stop by Vintage Revivals this week to tell Mandy hello. And get ready to wow her with your entries into this week’s challenge….
