Under $50 Dining Room makeover {Funkytime}

Hi, my name is Sibylle and my blog is called Funkytime. Hope you all are having wonderful holidays!

I am a graphic designer/creative blogger/regular German girl/ lover of (food-) photography, bohemian style and flea markets.

Funkytime exists for a little bit less than a year now, but since I have been blogging almost every day, a lot of projects have accumulated! Some of them were:

1. Vintage Pulley Chandelier | 2. Birthday in a Suitcase | 3. Inflatable Invite | 4. Bedroom Makeover | 5. Fancy Camera Strap | 6. Jam Printables |

7. DIY Cupcake Liner | 8. Decoupaged Pumpkins | 9. Sewing kit in a jar | 10. Spooky Cake | 11. Ruffle Shoes | 12. Chair Makeover |

But my favorite project was probably my dining room makeover.

This room was used as a bedroom before, it actually doesn’t even have a door, it also looks more like a sun room or a closed balcony and is pretty narrow. It has a window on the left side, that leads to the living room, and two different sized windows on the right side.

The ‘before’ picture was taken, when the old tenant still lived there!

First steps:

Fresh coat of paint, hanging the mirror (with help from the guys, that thing was too darn heavy!). The mirror will make the room look more spacious.

Then we converted the window, that was on the left side, facing the living room into a bar/shelf. All we used were some angle brackets and wooden boards.

I then made a chandelier out of an old pulley and mason jars and hang it above the table.

You can find the DIY here.

Since we have very little space here, I decided to hang some extra chairs on the wall, huge space saver! I found the chairs at a second hand store $4.99 pc.

Candle Holders from the Fleamarket

The end result is this:

Voila! This is it! Total cost is under $50. I love to re-use and up-cycle and I hope, I could inspire you!

A happy new year,

    wow I absolutely love what you have done with that space!! In one post you have just robbed me of all my excuses about having too little space to do something nice. Thanks 🙂
