Decorated Clipboard{Well, How Nice!}

IMG_1267

Hi Everyone!!  I’m so glad to be here during Dollar Store Crafts to show you a fun and easy craft.  I know we’ve all seen clipboards decorated with paper, ribbon, paint, etc.  I think I’ve made more than I could use in a lifetime!! BUT, I was walking through a store a few weeks ago and saw a super cute clipboard.  It had a great shape to it – not just your basic clipboard shape.  The problem – it was $13.99 and that’s just nuts!!  So, I picked up a clipboard from the dollar store and got some tools out. {…Read More…}

Apothecary Jars{Ninth Street Notions}

I blog over at Ninth Street Notions. I write about the usual things: fun craft projects, easy sewing tutorials, and delicious recipes. Be sure and visit me on the blog, Facebook, or Twitter if you like what you see! I have a love affair with the dollar store in my town. I could literally spend hours there. Which is weird, because I absolutely hate shopping for clothes or shoes. Give me five bucks and a dollar store, though, and I’m going to go wild! This project is extremely easy. It’s cheap. (Obviously.) And it looks fabulous. Gives you that Anthro/PB {…Read More…}

Poster Board Stenciled Bookcase{Imperfectly Polished}

stenciled-bookcase-tutorial

Hi CSI readers! I’m Jessie and I blog over at Imperfectly Polished, where I share lots of DIY projects and the occasional craft and recipe. I’m thrilled to be back here today for the stencil challenge because I have a really fun, thrifty way to stencil the backs of shelves. This method would work in kitchen cabinets, bookshelves, or display cases. Rather than having to commit to one background for our new bookcases, I decided to put a piece of poster board in the back of the book case for some added interest. That way, when I get tired of {…Read More…}

Spring Grapevine Wall Art{Mrs. Greene}

Hello everyone, and happy spring! I’m Rhonda from Mrs. Greene, and as always it’s a pleasure to be here at the CSI Project today! I was happy to see that this week in spring decor, since there are a few areas of my house that really need some decor refreshing. I just needed some inspiration. Taking advantage of the recent unseasonably warm weather, we’ve already dug into some of our spring pruning and other yard work. We hacked back an out-of-control grapevine and ended up with a big pile of ‘em: I have always loved the little twisty bits on {…Read More…}

Spring Wreath{Cleverly Inspired}

wreath_thumb

This wreath couldn’t be easier. Seriously I timed it….2 minutes and it was hung up! I used my wreath from last spring…and took the stuff off of that and started fresh. I bought one large leaf bush (it was in the greenery section at Michael’s) and one large flower pic. The flower was $4 I believe on sale. It was one of the more “real” looking flowers…since you are only buying one…I would go with something like this that has some “weight” to it. Here is how I put it together…. I cut 3 of the large leaves off at {…Read More…}
