mmm.... cookies!
I have always loved cookies... something related to my addiction to carbs and sugar, I'm sure.... but I'm always in search of a better chocolate chip cookie recipe.

I've got a couple of chocolate chip cookie recipes that I really like. I have what I consider my "basic" chocolate chip cookies, which are the kind that you make with your kids http://mouseinmypocket.com/2010/09/basic-chocolate-chip-cookies/ - and then I have my super amazing, refined, "restaurant style" chocolate chip cookies http://mouseinmypocket.com/2011/01/chocolate-chunk-cookies/.

These recipes make completely different kinds of cookies, but I love them both. Sometimes I just want the kind of cookies I used to make with my mom, and other times, I would love a cookie (as big as my head) with hand chopped dark chocolate. -- Please note that you can make those restaurant style cookies a normal size. They make ~72 normal sized cookies.

Do you like your chocolate chip cookies to be simple, or do you like something fancier? What's your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe?

I'm still trying to find the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe! It has to be soft and have dark chocolate chips (for some reason, I like chips over chunks). I'm gonna try out one (or both!) of your recipes next time I make a batch - which may be pretty soon, since I've really been craving them!

very cool! The restaurant style recipe makes 72, so you might want to halve it the first time. It also calls for chopped chocolate (like from candy bars) but you could easily substitute your favorite chips. The thing I like about using the chopped chocolate it that the chemical makeup of chocolate candy is different than that of the chips in the baking aisle. The baking aisle chips are made in such a way that they don't really melt, and get gooey, they keep their shape. The chopped chocolate from the candy aisle melts and stays gooey, even after your cookie has cooled.

Hmm... I didn't realize that! Maybe I should give chocolate chunks another shot. Thanks for the tips Andrea!
