Winners of the Lamp Challenge

And the winners are…………………

This was a fun week! I am so inspired by your creative ways to upcycle, makeover and DIY your own lamp.

Be sure to go through the links and find some inspriration for yourself.

Our guest judge Missy from Lookie, What I Did, had the most difficult job picking the winners.

Here is what she said about her judging experience.

Thank you for allowing me to be a guest judge during this lamp makeover challenge.  If you could see the inside of my house, I have lamps in every nook and cranny.  I think lamps make any space look warm and cozy and I so enjoyed getting inspiration from all of these wonderful creative bloggers.  I am going to take some of these makeovers and create some of my own.  Thanks for allowing me to meet and experience some new blogs that I never new existed.  I’m going to go back to all of them and start following them. Thanks again for the opportunity

Judge’s Comments are in italics.

#20  Blue Redo from Bleak 2 Unique

First off, I love the name of the blog because it totally describes what she did with these lamps.  Do you know how many of these lamps I have seen in thrift stores or garage sales and I had no idea I could change the color of the glass.  She is amazing in thinking out of the box on this one.  They turned out so beautiful!  She gave the best instructions too…way to go!  I can’t wait to score some glass lamps the next time I see them..Unbelievable!

#18   Lamp Revamp by A Diamond in the Stuff

I love anything with flowers and this lamp was so pretty with the blue and burlap flowers she used to enhance the shades.  I did learn that you should use steel wool to rough up the brass before painting too!  What a good tip!  Thanks Courtney.

#13   Brass Chandelier Makeover by It’s Overflowing

Chandeliers are so popular right now!  She spray painted it white and it just gave it a whole new look and it even has the crystal bling that makes it look super chic.  I would have to agree with Aimee too, spray paint is a girls best friend.  Great job!!

#1 Ruffle and Lace Lamp Makeover by Christina’s Adventures

She made this lamp look so cute by adding these ruffles.  This lamp has been in the works for a while and I’m so glad she finally finished it for her craft space.  I’m going to steal this idea by using hot glue to adhere the ruffles and she trimmed it out in lace.  I think it turned out so pretty and could be done with an old lamp shade laying around.

#15  Burlap Lampshade Makeover by Laughter and Grace

You had me at burlap!!  I am drawn to anything with burlap on it and I learned so much from this post.  She showed how to gather the burlap by taking out one of the strings in the middle of the burlap strip she cut and it gathers up…I had no idea.  Her lamp looks amazing and I’m going to try this with some burlap fabric I have left over. Beautiful Job!!

#3 -A Knit Lampshade by Duke & Duchesses

What a creative way to cover an old lampshade.  I might have to take up knitting to do a makeover like this.  I loved the orange color she used and she will be able to easily remove it and wash it and put it back on.  I loved the uniqueness of this one.

#24  Vintage Lamp Makeover by Pitter and Glink

I’m originally from a small town in Arkansas and when I saw how she used the chicken wire I was immediately smitten.  I loved the the flowers she attached to it and cute the makeover turned out.  Very cute and unique.

#26  Faux Capiz Chandelier by A Happy Place called Home

She really did some thinking out of the box on this one.  This chandelier blew me away and is so beautiful.  Who would have thought that wax paper could be so useful.  This chandelier packs a lot of style!

#16 Another Paper Lighting Fixture by The Night Garden

She used inspiration from Design Sponge to create this lighting fixture and it is so beautiful.  This lighting fixture is made from cupcake liners.  This is so cute and looks beautiful all lit up.

#7 – DIY Candlelight Lamp by Hey Little Mother

I had no idea when I saw the picture of this cute lamp what she made it out of.  She is saving for a camera and wanted to create an acrylic lamp base look without the price and I am in love with this idea.  A candlestick with a batter operated candle glued to it.  What a fantastic idea..I’m so going to copy this idea.

#25  Repurposed Fabric Lamps by Mule ‘n Nag Crafts

These lamps were simply recovered with fabric and spray adhesive.  This is a simple and easy way to redo any lamp and these turned out so pretty.  I love the fabric she chose and the style of the lampshade gave it a great finish!

#28 Thrifted Lamp Makeover from Just the Bee’s Knees

This is great! My favorite is always thrift store makeovers and this paint color grabbed me right away. Great job and thanks for linking up to The CSI Project!
