Summer means summer reading to me. Taking the time to relax and get lost in a good book. Whether that is on vacation or lying by the pool. Reading totes or bags take me back to my summers as a kid when my mom would take us weekly to the library. Those summers is when I fell in love with reading and I have my mom to thank for that. I can’t think of a time that I have not loved to read. Picking out books, checking them out (the old fashioned way) and feeding the ducks by the lake outside the library, was one way we spent our summer days. I loved it. My brother probably not so much!!! Boys!
I picked up a cute burlap tote in the Target Dollar Deal aisle and decided to hand paint it. For texture and dimension, I had the idea to use black beans for the inside of the sunflower and even the bee is made with black beans. I adore sunflowers. I could get lost in a field of sunflowers. Where I am from in Texas, there are a lot of fields to wander in.
With just $4, I created a cute tote to carry all of my summer reading books in. This tote reminds me of summer as a kid, library days with my mom and reminds me how much I love to paint and create.
Have you read any good books this summer? My book club is discussing, Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee this month. Should make for an interesting discussion.
Always remember to Create, Share and Inspire!
