Hey Y’all! I’m Myra from The Casabella Project and My Blessed Life. The Casabella Project chronicles my family’s journey as we update our 1950s home to make it our own and My Blessed Life is my frugal lifestyle blog where I share recipes, stories, crafts and various glimpses into our crazy life. I’m so excited to be here with you today to celebrate the Pantone Color of 2011 – Honeysuckle! I love pink. I’m a girly girl in a house full of testosterone. I’m in the process of working on my crafting workspace which will involve a desk makeover and various other organization projects. In the meantime, I decided to create an inspiration board, so I can at least be somewhat organized with the magazine pages that seem to be overtaking my life.
Cute, huh?
I found this picture frame at a yard sale a couple of years ago for 25 cents and it’s just perfect for an inspiration board. You could definitely use any size picture frame. Just customize it for yourself and your needs!
I spray painted it with glossy black paint … perfection!
Supplies used:
- 24″ x 36″ cork board {from Hobby Lobby with 40% off coupon}
- 1 yard fabric and 1 yard lining {solid broadcloth}
- Scissors
- Glue gun and glue sticks
- Pink Felt
- Needle and thread
- Push pins
I ironed both pieces of fabric to remove the wrinkles and creases. Then I laid out both pieces {right sides down} and placed the cork board on top of the fabric.
I wrapped the fabric around the cork board and attached it with hot glue. I inserted the fabric covered cork board into my spray painted black frame and secured it with hot glue. Ha! I need to pick up a few tacks to really secure it. 🙂
Then I decorated the bottom of the frame with pink felt “petals” that I hot glued into place.
{lookin’ pretty!}

I love how the glossy black frame and the colorful fabric work together!

All done!
Now I can keep the pages that I rip out of magazines all in one place. My girly inspiration board is going to hang over my desk {that will be made over soon!} This project concept can be adapted to smaller frames or even multiple frames for an organizational station in your home.
Thanks so much for having me, CSI girls! I can’t wait to see all the fabulous pink projects this week!
