We meet again CSI Project Readers! What a pleasure it is to return with another project for you. I am Christine from Christine & Co. As a crafty blogger, I enjoy recycling things that would otherwise end up in a landfill. After looking through my recycle “pile,” I came up with this sign for my older boy’s bedroom. He is coming up on twelve, so I wanted to make something he would appreciate.
Respectively, a piece of scrap wood and the protective plastic thingy from a package of DVDs. Yeah, that’s me taking the picture–hi.
With a sanding block, I roughed up the plastic. I know, I know–what did it ever do to me? Really, I just wanted to make sure the Mod Podge would stick. After Mod Podging some card stock to both sides, I started flipping through old magazines. I was searching for some words that would work for the “you-can-come-in-if-you-like” side.
While I was looking for words, I came across a creature that was totally meant to be on the “at-your-own-risk” side. More about him in a minute…
For the wood piece, I used a fun scrap book paper that resembled notebook paper. Which I felt was appropriate considering he is supposed to be doing his homework in there–ahem.* I used foam stamps and StazOn ink in stone gray to make the word “enter.”
