Giveaway of the week — Signed copy of Wren Bay Cottage

Good day! I am Clarice Fox-Hughes, author  of Storybook Woods

I am the mother of Auberne`, 20 and Chloe, 15. I love making a home, cooking, crafting and making the most of small moments. I started my blog five years ago and had the same goal then as I do now, to make the most of what I have been gifted with, to celebrate every day, and to teach my daughters these same skills and joy. This is what I share on my blog.

I never thought of myself as a writer, especially since I am dyslexic, but then I suppose writing is what blogging is all about. One day a dear reader mailed me a small handmade doll. I immediately knitted her a shawl and named her Wren Bay. I had a little story about her in my head and decided to write it out. Well, several months later I had a novel, Wren Bay, The Story Of Making A Home (link http://www.lulu.com/product/paperback/wren-bay/13581847 ). The story turned out not to be about a doll but about a young newlywed named Wren Bay whose husband is off serving in WW1. As I started writing about Wren, I realized I wanted to take all the things I blog about and set them in a fictional form. I wanted to show the process of someone taking a house (a charming old stone house!) and turning it into a home. I wanted to show her learning how to cook, harvesting herbs, making things for her home, upcycling, fashion, self-learning, etc. but most importantly finding herself in this process.

“This is Bay Farm, a 200 acre dairy farm in Massachusetts. The front of the stone house looks down upon fruit orchards and a small lake as a drive curves its way up through apples, peaches, plums and pear trees to the sand colored, stone house. The house is not huge but it has grace and a simple grandeur as it overlooks its ethereal domain.”

We all make a home! Granted, I do it full time but we all have a space we live in and I think this is what the crafting/cooking blog world is about. All those little details fuel our passion and help us create a nest where we can be ourselves. So I took the ideas and recipes Storybook Woods is well known for, added lots of new ideas and 41 recipes to create Wren Bay. You can read a sample of Wren and reviews (which are also at the top of my blog) in my shop (link http://stores.lulu.com/storybookwoods ).

I would like to offer one CSI reader the chance to win a signed copy of Wren Bay, The Story Of Making A Home.
