Hi ya’ll! This is Jennifer from All Things Belle,
where I love to do tutorials on knock offs and more.
I’m over the moon to be guesting posting on CSI again!
Today I’m going to show you how in less than an hour,
you can update your bedroom with paint, brushes, and a graphic stencil.
Last year my husband painted our bedroom a very serene lavender.
With two young kiddos, it’s wonderful to have this calm haven.
But it was lacking some ommph!
See?
Lovely, but missing something..
Now that my husband is back to working nights and my eldest is out of school,
I have little time to undertake a large painting project.
I came up with a great idea!
With some paint and a modern graphic, I could quickly create a focus wall.
Since our comforter was a detailed damask, I figured that would
be the best style graphic to use as an accent.
What do you need?
*Paint – with such a small project I was able to use the
ready made Martha Stewart paint sample with
plenty left over for another project
*Plastic stencil – I bought mine at a local craft store,
but you could make yours with a Silhouette or Exacto knife and stencil plastic.
*Purdy Paintbrushes – My husband & I use Purdy because
we found they were the best quality.
The bristles don’t break or end up in your paint!
I painted my stencil all over one wall.
I did an asymmetrical style to just add a little color and style punch.
I’m so happy with how this turned out.
My eye is drawn to this wall every time I walk in our bedroom.
It was a super quick project
(I did it with both kids awake and squawking at my heels),
but it adds so much style to that bare wall.
I hope you are inspired to update your home this summer
with just a little paint and a bold graphic.
Thanks for sharing your time with me
and I hope you’ll stop by my blog for more tutorials!
