Stay At Home Mom’s Party–{JC’s Loft}

Hey there CSI readers!  It’s me…Paula from JC’s Loft.  I am in my comfort zone today as the topic is PARTIES and PICNICS.  I have a fabulous party to share with you this morning so get your coffee and put the kids in front of the tv LOL  Here we go…
Summer signifies the end of school and the begining of a lot of work for stay at home mom’s!  I decided to gather all of my SAHM’s together for a KOCKTAILS without KIDS party to give ourselves a much needed break.
My friend Jen and I hand delivered these mini wine bottle invitations that I made about 3 weeks before the party.
Guest’s were greeted by a welcome table and my DIY wreath.
I took left over fabric from the tablecloth I made and wrapped it around a wreath form.  Made a couple of paper flowers from wrapping paper, added a small bunting accented with rhinestones and a ribbon for hanging.
I painted a Dollar Tree picture frame I used for this project black and slipped in a WELCOME message.  It asked our guest’s to take a Strawberry Belini and head inside.
I have a long and skinny foyer with these 2 white shelves.  I used wrapping paper as a backdrop and then lined up vases housing pink carnations, candles, and turned over wine glasses.
I bought this bar cart from The Salvation Army for $5 and transformed it into what you see above.  (you can see the before picture here).
White and red wine were served on the left with glasses underneath.

Vodka with different mixers were in the middle and right side.  I used glass carafes I found at WalMart for the vodka and mixers. I wrapped the necks in black ribbon and accented them with custom tags I made.
I made different sized paper flowers out of scrapbook paper that served as accents to the front of the cart.
Behind the tablescape I covered existing canvases with wrapping paper and signs I made.  You can probably read them all, but the far right one that reads, "August 19th is what keeps me going."  That is the first day of school here LOL
I entered my tablescape into Pizzazzerie’s Summer Stripes Tablescape contest and only non published pictures are eligible therefor I cannot show you my entire tablescape.  However I thought I’d give you a couple sneak peeks!
A glass of cucumber water accented with a black and white paper straw awaited each guest at their place setting.
Bouquets of pink carnations tied in hot pink satin ribbons were sprinkled down the center of the table in clear vases.
I removed all of the chairs from my kitchen table, covered it in a crisp white table cloth, and it served as the perfect spot for our mini appetizers.
In the center of the table I placed a large clear vase filled with green branches and white hydrangeas.
Mini melba crackers topped with a small slice of mozzarella and cherry tomato tasted as good as they looked!
I scored these mini glass bowls from the Dollar Tree!  4 pack for $1 and the mini forks
were silver plastic from Hobby Lobby.  Can’t wait to use these again!
Jen made some awesome Antipasto Kabobs that were so colorful and yummy!
Again the Dollar Tree came to the rescue when Jen stumbled upon these mini white ceramic dishes.  They were perfect for her Spinach and Artichoke Dip.
Small white plastic tumblers held our delicious Baked Tortellini.
Thanks again to Jen for all of her help with the food preparation and set up.  It’s so hard to keep the hot food hot, but with another set of hands it made it more manageable!
Coming up with a unique display for desserts can be challenging.  When I came across my black writing desk in the basement I knew it would be absolutely perfect for this party!
I had that black chandelier decal sitting in my closet since last October!  It was the perfect backdrop to this dessert table don’t ya think?
I repeated the black and white stripes on the dessert table.  Glass and silver displays were used for my desserts to keep some unity.  We scoured our small town and picked the best of the best dessert wise and brought them all together in one spot!
The BEST cheesecake in town!  Heaven is what I like to call it : )
The milkshakes at TCBY here in town are nothing short of fabulous and are made from yogurt so you don’t feel too guilty!
Homemade snickers fudge from a local gift shop.  See how made these $3 mini dessert stands here.
Anything with truffle in the name you know is going to be lip smacking good.  These chocolate chip truffle cookies are from a small family owned baker in town!
The table was accented with tall crystal and black candlesticks that were topped with juice glasses.  Yep, juice glasses that I filled with small bouquets of pink carnations from good ole WalMart.  Who says you have to pay big bucks from a fancy florist to get some chic arrangements?!
Bottles of Starbucks coffee awaited my tired mama’s when they left.  We all had kids to take care of the next morning so coffee is what I like to call, "Mommies Morning Energy."  Everyone was very appreciative and it was a nice thank you for coming if I do say so myself!
If you made it to the end of this post I sincerely thank you!!  Don’t forget to stop by JC’s Loft for more DIY inspiration…till next time…XOXO Paula
