I love, love, love the way this reverse applique flower pillow turned out!
Hi everyone! It’s Heather from Twin Dragonfly Designs where I share fun crafts, fab recipes and day-to-day life with my twin, three year old boys!
After posting a bunch of my projects on Facebook a friend asked me if I could make her a bench cushion. I said yes of course! But on one condition. I get to create a matching throw pillow. So here it is…
I started by sketching a flower onto the fabric with chalk {1}. Then I sewed the black corduroy material over top of the patterned material {right side up}, following my sketch {2}. Here’s the wrong side of my pillow looking quite a mess {3}. Finally I cut out pieces of the flower, being sure not to snip through the patterned fabric {4}.
And just like that I have a lovely accent pillow for my friends bench seat.
This black and white houndstooth was fun to work with. I have also used it on these Rocker T’s and this Purse Refashion.
To give my pillow a bit more interest, I offset the placement of the flower and wrapped it around the side slightly.
Thanks so much for reading!
