Our guest judge this week is the darling Ashley from the uber-crafty site, Make It and Love It.
Ashley, the creative wonder behind Make It and Love It, is a wife and mother of three children.
Is that the cutest family theme you’ve ever laid eyes on? We want them to trick-or-treat our houses, tomorrow, so we can see them in person! You can view more pictures and find the tutorials and info on these fanciful costumes HERE.
Here’s what Ashley has to say about the inspiration behind Make It and Love It:
“My little family is my main inspiration for what I create…..whether they want to be or not! And all someone has to do is dare me, and I’m down and dirty trying to figure out how to make something that I’ve seen in the store, or, well, is on someone that is walking down the street. Watch out passersby!
Sometimes these projects saves us a little money…..and other times, it is purely, well, just for fun. Because, hands down, nothing beats the thrill of creating something with your own two hands, and then being shocked that it actually worked out. Haha……..I can’t tell you how many times that has happened to me. “
Ashley says that she is frequently asked where she finds the time to sew, craft, and create all the fun projects she posts at Make It and Love It. Here’s her response:
“Yes, I do have 3 small children but they take naps and go to bed at 8. My husband is usually studying until late at night…..so that he can graduate from P.A. school. So I have a couple hours here or there that I can use to play around. (And my house is never tidy if you were to just stop by. Ha!) But once you start delving into a hobby like crafting/sewing…..the ideas will just flow and you won’t be able to stop. You’ll start finding all sorts of time to create. Go on, try it. You’ll see. (More info about me and my home life and such, visit my About Page, here.)”
We don’t care how tidy Ashley’s house may or may not be, because she give us such fun eye candy to view at Make It and Love It. Not only does Ashley share pictures of her creations, she provides fantastic, easy-to-follow tutorials for many of them, too (find a concise list of her free tutorials here). These are some of her projects that we just have to share:
With so many kid-friendly projects under her belt, we knew that Ashley would be the perfect judge for this week’s Kids’ Places and Spaces Challenge! Get ready to wow her with your favorite kids’ rooms…the linkup begins the Wednesday at midnight (EST). And make sure you stop by Make It and Love It to give Ashley a warm welcome!
