There is no doubt that Christmas magic is for children, but that shouldn’t stop adults from remembering the magic of Christmas. The difference between now and when we were kids is that now we can help a child feel and know the spirit, the magic that Christmas brings. When I think of children and Christmas, I can’t help but think about the little boy in The Christmas Story. You know the one that wanted the official Red Ryder, carbon action, 200 shot, range level, air rifle and everyone told him he would just shoot his eye out, but he wanted it sooo bad that he didn’t care what everyone said. Then, he rushed down the stairs Christmas morning and there it was!
Oh, the magic of Christmas!
The joy of Christmas morning, the giggles from seeing exactly what you asked Santa for under the tree.
Soon, the kids will be out of school and on winter break. They will be getting excited about their very own presents and then it happens…….”mom, I am bored.”
Yes, you know that phrase. You know that murmuring. You know that eye rolling. Magic of Christmas, what? Where did it go?
If the kids get bored then they just might do this
Also, from The Christmas Story. Funniest scene ever!
Well, to avoid this situation and to keep the Christmas spirit in your house, YOU can craft with your kids.
Keep their creative minds going. Especially, if you live somewhere that it is snowing and keeping your activities inside.
That is what this week here at The CSI Project is all about.
This week you can come by everyday for a kids craft tutorial.
Then, on Wednesday at midnight come back to link up your own to share. Of course, there is a prize involved and even the chance to win a great giveaway.
First, may I suggest you check out last week’s Advent Calendar challenge so you can start your own Advent tradition.
Then, come back here to get ideas for the kids holiday crafting.
Need some inspiration. You can make finger puppets like these.
Or make an ornament out of a cup. Cute!
Or make fun Christmas magnets.
My hope is that you will be inspired to craft with your kids. I promise that they will amaze you with their creativity and imagination.
Keep them busy, keep them inspired and keep them believing in the magic of Christmas.
Then, one day they too will help other children believe and who knows what you do with them this Christmas season, they just might pass down the same tradition to their kids.
That is how the magic of Christmas lingers from one generation to the next.
