The Wishing Chair{Cleverly Inspired}

Hello CSI readers! My name is Tracie and I am visiting from Cleverly Inspired! I am so thrilled to be sharing with you today! I hope to catch you sometime over on my blog….lots of fun diy projects, easy recipes, crafts and much more! Be inspired to be clever in your own home !
Here are just a few of my past projects…
Ok…onto our Christmas craft for today!
I recently scored this sad little chair at the thrift store. It was only $5 and I knew I could do something fun and out of the ordinary with it….I was inspired by some of these pictures.
And I got to thinkin….I could paint this sweet little chair green. I just love the pop of color! So fresh and fun! Plus….it is just in time for Christmas! That is when the kids got excited about it!
So we call it our
Wishing Chair
The chair gets a bright pop of Christmas green spray paint. Thanks Krylon!
Then I made a very simple pouch out of some leftover Christmas fabric.
On one side of the fabric, make a large square and iron down the side. Sew onto the strip of fabric making sure when you go to drape the fabric that the pouch opening is rightside up.
Using another strip of fabric, sew right sides together making sure you sew in 4 pieces of ribbon so that you can tie the pouch to your chair.
Print up some super cute “I am wishing for…” on pieces of cardstock.
Now whenever a wish comes to thier head they have a place to write it down 🙂
Whenever the mood strikes….you go over to the wishing chair and write (or draw) a wish and place it in the pouch. It’s functional art I tell ya! The kids get involved when they write their wish (or draw it). And place it in the pocket….so fun!
You can also us it to keep note of more meaningful wishes. The pouch can also hold wishes for others. So if you were to think of a gift or just a wish (a prayer) for another person you could place it in that pocket.
During Christmas week we will read all the wishes…and see what comes true 🙂
I hope you can come over to Cleverly Inspired and visit me!

~ Thanks Tracie that chair is so cute and how CLEVER!!!!
You kicked off this week well.
