Fashion trends 2012 – Lipstick and Make up
The runway has been a great source of inspiration in every season. The runway rather dictates the dresses and makeup trends. It is quite interesting how these projects actually utilize makeup to bring out the anticipated “look”.
Although these trends are actually there to sell us more makeup every season, nevertheless, fun is to experiment with what you already have and get an excuse to wear that hardly-ever-used stuff.
This season, the trends involved are old and new. You will find long lost colors, futuristic eye accents, smoky eyes, timeless natural tones and eyes done in fresh ways. The moral is to blend vintage with modern and make a unique statement.
1. Iconic Reds
The iconic color in lipstick was reinvented this season. This yet again shows how basic colors never die. Endless styles of wearing the dramatic red were visible. This is excellent time to go for the color. The runway displayed inspirations, which ranged from pop art expressionisms at Jason Wu to Betty Draper-style elegance at Dior to art deco experimentation at Rick Owens. Bring out the color from your vanity and paint the town RED.
2. Modern Cat Eyes
The excellent little trick for those with round eyes is back with a bang! The little flick of the liner has made a comeback to the outer corners of eyes. However, the only change this time is that it comes with a playful variation.
3. Power Brows
The thick and straight Power brows are feminine and striking at the same time. This bold brow look have dominated the runways this year and reminds of the sixties-era. Maybe it is just a way of paying tribute to iconic Liz Taylor. The power brow goes extremely well with the black winged smoky eyes.
4. Extreme Smoky Eyes
The smoky eye has been in vogue for a couple of years now, however, the seriously smudged-out eyes were spotted on the runways. Although this look like a winter look, the look shouts daring and beautiful. This is not at all for the faint-hearted since it utilizes the darkest of eye shadow.
5. Sporty Cheeks
This look is probably the most easy-going and natural make-up of the bunch. The sun-kissed cheeks in the orange-bronzy color look like the sun has almost burned them. The effect looks dramatic when the high parts of the face are contoured with lush peach bronze. The look is much pleasant than actual.
6. Splash of Color
The prevalent nude face on the runway was not completely nude. The face had bursts of color, which created a very pretty and dramatic effect. The color effect opened up the eyes and added warmth.
7. Doll Lashes
Designers also drew inspiration from the dollhouse this season. The runway had eyelashes in curls and feathery. The false eyelashes look extremely well with glowing baby skin and rosebud lips.
8. Glittery Eyes
The innovative look of the season is glittery eyes. They strike a wonderful balance between the daring chic and eccentric babe. The incredibly sexy look makes one stand out in the crowd this season.
9. Rosebud Lips
The poetic expression of rosebud lips dominated the runway. The soft rose color compliments all skin tones and looks exceptionally wonderful when paired with a similar toned blush. Use a creamy lipstick, and then pat it in with the fingers to get those romantic rosy lips.
10. Baby Skin
The most prominent makeup this season was a skin that has been barely touched by time or sun. The clean and clear look came from a good moisturizer and hydrating foundation that contained light-reflecting particles. These light-reflecting particles go a long way to add that youthful radiance.
So whether you opt for the daring smoky eyes or the rosebud look or maybe the sports cheek, the beauty trends this year has something for everyone.
