Hello and welcome back to another week of fun, giveaways and tutorials. This week’s challenge is pillows. Get your DIY pillow projects ready to go and stop by everyday to see a fun tutorial. We have some great ones lined up just for you.
In the spirit of pillows, I wanted to share one of my creations with you. This is my easy pillow that you can switch out for every season. This pillow sits on a chair on my porch and I change it out for the seasons. So easy and cute!
First, I used an old pillow that I had as my pillow form. I know what you are thinking. Why cover a pillow with such a great message, If the shoes fits, but it. But it is an old pillow and just doesn’t go with anything anymore, but great message. Words to live by!!!
I then cut off some of the fabric to fit the size of the pillow.

After that turn it back the right way. Now you have a nice stitch and you can iron it down to make it nice and pretty. Here is the easy part. You are done sewing. Grab some ribbon and simply tie the ends.
How easy and simple is that! Now, I have a cute summer pillow for my porch. The great thing about this pillow is when the next season rolls around and I change my decor, I can simply untie my ribbon and cover with different fabric. So, you have a pillow for all seasons. I am also very thrifty and I craft on a budget. So, this pillow and so far the porch makeover has cost me $0, nada, nothing.
There you have it, a very easy pillow that can change with the seasons.
Here it is dressed up for fall.
Of course, pillow cases are near and dear to my heart because of my charity, Giraffe Grins. You can read more about GG and how you can be involved here.
Thanks to some special ladies across the country, Giraffe Grins is in Boston, New York, Houston, Wisconsin, Los Angeles and Georgia. I would love to have affiliates sewing and delivering in every state.
A special thanks goes out to Amanda, who is the LA affiliate. She made a special pillow case for a friend’s little boy who had been diagnosed with cancer. She made him his very own persoanlized pillowcase and I am so happy for him. I smile thinking about how this simple pillowcase brightened up his hospital room and I hope it put a smile on his face.
She has also been busy making more.
Thank you, Amanda from the bottom of my heart. It is your generosity, your sweet spirit and kindess that makes my heart sing!
Go by and say hi to Amanda on her cute blog, here.
If you would like to be apart of the Giraffe Grins charity, please email me. I have a dream that we can touch lives in every state and country. Why not dream?
Keep dreaming BIG!
Get ready for a great week and I can not wait to see your pillow projects!
Come back and be inspired!
