Let’s see who she picked as our winners!
This was a fun week! I am so inspired by your spring craftiness.
Be sure to go through the links and find some inspriration for yourself.
Our guest judge Heather from Commonplace Beauty had the most difficult job picking the winners.
Here is what she said about her judging experience.
“Hey there CSI’ers – it’s been a great week as the guest judge, being inspired by all things Spring. I have to say picking only 11 choices out of this fabulous bunch of offerings has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in the blog world. As I’ve visited your blogs and been perusing your sites, one thing is for sure, you are one group of talented bloggers! Thanks for having me Dee, and thanks for all the hard work you do to keep this up week after week in order to provide us with endless inspiration! Ok, time to get down to business.”

#14 Old Chair to Spring Planter from My Sister’s Suitcase
Let me tell you, my jaw dropped open, the world became new, angels came down from heaven and my head was bursting with ideas when I saw this. Ok I exaggerate a tad but not by much. This planter chair by Holly over at My Sister’s Suitcase is “upholstered” with moss and is so amazingly creative, funky and just plain fun. I’m not kidding when I say, I went directly to a thrift shop to find my own chair. Directly. I think it was the Moss as upholstery! I love moss. To me this is what blogs and linky parties are all about. This didn’t just inspire me to dream. This inspired me to immediately move my bum from the couch to create!
#2 Cheery Spring Mantle from Christina’s Adventures
I just love what Christina has going on here. Such cheerful, Spring-a-licous (that’s a word, yes?) colors going on propped up against a white backdrop that really makes them pop. Love the fabric she chose to cover those books in too! Well done!
#10 Leave Your Boots at the Door from Red Hen Home
I’ve been stalking…I mean “following.” Yes, “following” Korrie at Red Hen Home for a while and I love what she’s done with boots as front door decor. Who would have thought that some simple yellow rain boots could be so adorably welcoming?!
#45 Spring Entry from Bliss Bloom Blog
Mel’s simple, clean, elegant and mossy spring vignette left me green with envy. Get it? Moss? Green? Oh, I crack myself up. But seriously, a perfectly charming entryway that would give me joy to look at each morning too! I love her moss covered jars and will be filing this away for a rainy day next spring to use in my own decorating! Thanks, Mel!
#27. My Spring Mantel from A Diamond in the Stuff
There is such wonderful symmetry in Courtney’s Spring Mantle! I love the wreath attached to her awesome Craigslist window (man…I MUST be on Craigslist at all the wrong times). The white and green colorscape is so soothing! And who doesn’t love a good mossy topiary or two?!
#31 Thrifty Spring Mantel from Today’s Fabulous Finds
Janet clearly has great eye. She expertly varies the heights of the elements in her mantel and goes for the layered look which just keeps the eye so interested! The pop of color with the red lantern is just perfection and the teeny tiny moss letter on the candle is just adorable. And a spring mantel just isn’t a spring mantel without a Emily Dickinson quote. A girl after my own heart, love it Janet!
#63 DIY Cherry Blossoms from Creations By Kara
There’s nothing so lovely as when cherry blossoms are in bloom and now, thanks to Kara, I know how I can make them bloom all year round myself! Such a simple, clever and inexpensive craft that creates such a pretty impact.
#58 Spring Centerpiece from Our Fifth House
I just love yellow. Carmel applied one of my favorite colors to some coke bottles to create quite the jolly little centerpiece. Not to mention the seriously awesome gnome salt and pepper shakers for just the right amount of we-don’t-take-ourselves-too-seriously-around-here whimsy.
#1 Spring Mantel from Mom 4 Real
I love what Jessica over at Mom 4 Real did with her mantle. Simple but so festive for spring. A completely unexpected element for me were the bricks. I never thought of using basic bricks as a decor element like that, but it totally works! Way to think outside the box, Jessica. And I love the yellow boots. Yeah, I’m seeing a yellow boot trend here. I think I need to jump on the bandwagon!
#23 1 mantel 5 ways from Bungalow
I adore Debra’s “Good day sunshine” sign that she made herself. It looks fabulous as the backdrop to her white and silver mantel with pops of green and pink. I can also totally relate to the hubs saying, “you aren’t going to leave it like that…” uh, I guess not ;-).
#62 Easter Egg Banner from Creations By Kara
I gotta give it up, again, to Kara for this super cute three dimensional easter egg banner. Colorful, simple, playful. I really like how she antiqued the edges of the eggs and book pages to bring it all together in a cohesive look. Seriously cute, Kara. Wanna come decorate my house?
#54 Spring Flowers and Gazebo from Gypsy Farm Girl
You know that moment of complete envy…..I had that when I saw this post. Oh MY!!! I love everything about it. The hanging flowers. Oh, the flowers and that banner that says, Junk. Be still my heart!
Great job!!! Just gorgeous and screams Spring!!!
