Hi there! I’m Maria, the lady behind the scenes at Craft Crazy Mom.
I’m a military wife, mother, and avid DIYer. Being thrifty is my thing and I’ve been known to try and find the absolute cheapest way to craft something. Enter my $2 tooth fairy pillow tutorial. Fasten your seat belts folks, this is going to be awesome!
First things first. You’ll need to head to your local craft store and purchase two 9″x12″ sheets of felt, ribbon from the dollar section, and embroidery floss. Hopefully you have a needle with a wide eye like I did otherwise you’ll be spending another dollar. I’m sure you can find a lonely sock (or ten) to serve as your batting.
Cut two squares 5″x5″ and a 3″x5″ rectangle. Hand stitch those bad boys together with the smaller piece on the outside to serve as a pocket. Don’t forget to stuff that old sock between your felt before stitching it completely shut.
Stick or hot glue your two 18″ pieces of ribbon onto each corner and tie them into a bow. Add an embellishment on the front side of your pillow. I chose a cute flower for the girlie pillow and a simple stitched initial for the boys.
Have your munchkin put this pillow on their bedroom door so the “tooth fairy” won’t wake them up. Their little tooth will fit perfectly into the back pocket and so does any cash or small treats. Can’t forget fairy dust either!
There you have it. A tooth fairy pillow that should only cost you $2 in supplies or nothing if you’re a craft supply hoarder like me! Thanks so much for letting me share this simple little project with you. Can’t wait to see the clever projects linked up this week!
Happy crafting,
Maria
