Hello! I’m Ashley, and I blog over at The Latest Find! I’m so excited to be sharing some of my Spring decorating at The CSI Project today! First up, a little bit about me. I’m a wife and stay-at-home mommy of 2 little ones! I love crafting, decorating, and baking, so I started The Latest Find to compile my latest crafty finds and recipes! I also share a few of my own tutorials!
Since it is now Spring, I decided to get started on decorating. I have been anxious to try out stenciling, so I decided to give it a try. Inspired by Christina over at Christina’s Adventures to paint over Dollar Store wooden plaques, I picked up a few plaques! I also got a stencil set from Michael’s as well as a few craft acrylic paints. I got Apple Barrel by Plaid, and the color is called Cloudless. I also picked out some white paint.
First, I painted over the wooden plaque with my blue paint.
Â
Once it dried, I placed the stencil in the middle of the plaque, so that the design would go straight down the middle.
Using my small roller and my white paint, I rolled the paint over the stencil.
I gave it a few minutes to let the paint start to dry, but not all the way, then peeled up the stencil carefully.
After it completely dried, I used a very small paintbrush to touch up areas of the circles and edges that did not completely come out after lifting up the stencil.
Â
And here it is up on my shelf, with some added floral spring color!!
                     Â
Easy and super-inexpensive, it’s a great project to bring Spring into your living room! Â
Â
Thanks so much for reading, and a big thank you to The CSI Project!
