All across the world are CSI Agents, waiting to get the call. They are waiting for the next assignment to investigate and to CREATE!!!
In this week’s episode, CSI Agent Melanie went on the case to investigate how to create something made of jute.
She has undergone CSI Agent training and has successfully mastered the art of crafting.
She did her training and continues to inspire over at Reasons to Skip the Housework.
She can upcycle Goodwill finds. This is a very important skill for the CSI Agents.
She turned these lovelies found at Goodwill
into this
Another important skill is to learn how to craft around and for the “little ones.”
Little ones: also known as your children, fruits of your labor, babies, those set to inherit all that you have worked for.
CSI Agent Ashley has excelled in this art.
Like this ABC Wall Art, here.
Agent, now that you have successfully mastered your training, you are now on the case.
Go forth, Agent and God Speed!
Spy work, that’s easy. Investigating how to craft, that’s fun and addicting.
And that’s a mission worth fighting for.
CSI Agent Friday

As this month’s CSI agent, I was given instructions to make something…anything….out of jute.

I headed out to Michael’s and Joann’s with my undercover partner, Sami {she’s 2}.
We went in search of an idea that would inspire me.
I came home with….
brown jute, red jute, and some replacement glue gun cartridges
Still…had NO idea what I would make. Nothing was jumping out at me. I looked all over the house to find something I could “makeover” with jute. I have decorative balls in a bowl that could stand some new jute….but that was boring. I have some bottles displayed that would look pretty with a little jute wrapping….still boring…..
I took to the mess of a closet that is my craft closet. You know the place, we all have THAT ONE place…where we shove things we buy at the Target dollar bin because they’d be perfect for a “someday craft”. I have bins overflowing of perfect things to makeover someday!
That’s when I came across this beauty in the back of the closet!

I have no idea what I thought I’d use it for when I bought it, but that’s what I do at Target..I buy all kinds of things I didn’t know I needed. {a.k.a The Target Effect}
So, using this canvas, some hot glue, and the JUTE, I created a family photo frame!

I used hot glue to secure the jute to the back of the canvas. Then, I plopped myself in front of the tv to watch Revenge and Vampire Diaries, and I started to wrap the jute around the canvas.

I wrapped and wrapped and wrapped some more…

I had to cut long strips for the sides of the canvas – and I hot glued them on separately.

I used some bendable wire from the hubby’s man-cave stash, created the word LOVE, and wrapped it with something that resembled red jute.

I hot glued LOVE and a few other embellishments to the jute, added a family picture, and VOILA….

Whew…I’m so glad I was able to complete my mission….and let me tell you – I had a blast!
Thank you, Dee, for my mission and the opportunity to visit you here on The CSI Project.
Please come on over and visit me at Reasons To Skip The Housework – a bloggy spot where I share tons of ideas that will give you many reasons to skip YOUR housework!
