Basket turned Lamp Shade{Imperfectly Polished}

Hello CSI Readers! I am so happy to be back again sharing another fun DIY tutorial. If you haven’t visited me before, come over to Imperfectly Polished to take a tour of our house, see tons of fun DIY projects, lots of pretty inspiration, and the occasional recipe. I’m here today to share a lamp project and rather than making over a lamp shade, I decided to create my own shade. Inspired by some of the beautiful woven shades at Pottery Barn…

I created this fun, simple, and inexpensive basket lamp shade.

Materials:

  • lamp base
  • basket
  • floral wire

I bought my basket and floral wire at the Dollar Tree and started by removing a lamp shade from a lamp we had around the house.

I took my floral wire and cut four long strips of the floral wire with tin snips.

I took end of a piece of wire and wrapped it through one piece of the basket.

I did this 4 times, spaced out evenly around the basket. Then I had my husband hold it in the center for me and I basically just wrapped the wire around the bottom of the bulb. This will keep the basket in place and off the bulb.

And it is really that simple. $2 and about 5 minutes later, you’ll have this beautifully textured, warm basket lamp shade. P.S-ignore my dusty table…cleaning will happen this weekend:)

I love this project because you can really make this shade for any size lamp, any color or texture you want.

Thanks again for having me and make sure to stop by and say hi over at Imperfectly Polished!
