Homemade SLIME!

Hello, CSI fans!  My name is Morena and I am thrilled to guest post on one of my favorite blogs today!  I share my tutorials at Morena’s Corner, where I like to create projects that are fast and frugal, yet still look fabulous!  I have made dollar store glass look like faux pewter and blue mercury glass, among other fun projects.  I hope you’ll come visit me to learn more!

Today I want to share a fun project that will keep your kids entertained for HOURS this summer!  You can make your own slime with two household ingredients:  Elmer’s Glue and liquid starch!  I added washable craft paint to mine for color, but that is entirely optional!

You will need equal parts glue and starch.  If you want to add color, add some tempera paint to your glue first.  (I prefer tempera paint over food coloring because it doesn’t stain.)  After you have the color you want, pour in the starch and begin mixing.  If it’s still too sticky, just keep adding starch till it reaches the consistency you want.  If you have too much starch in the end you can just pour it out and rinse your slime in water.

You’re done!  Wasn’t that fast, frugal, and fabulous?  Have fun playing with slime this summer!
