I love flip flops in the summertime! They are quick to throw on and so cheap that I don’t have to worry about ruining them while out on crazy adventures with my boys.
I also love glitter. With Mod Podge as a base and a sealer, it’s super simple and inexpensive to make your own glittered flip flops. Lucky us!
Want to make some? Grab a pair of flip flops. I found some at our dollar store, but Old Navy has them for a couple bucks, too. Cover your workspace – – glitter can get out of hand quickly if not contained. 🙂
Starting at one side of your flip flop, brush on a few inches of Mod Podge. Sprinkle glitter generously.
Continue until you reach the other side of the flip flop. Shake off excess glitter. Cover your second flip flop.
Let your flip flops dry. I waited an hour or so just to be sure.
Now, grab Mod Podge to seal your glitter. I chose “Sparkle”.
The Mod Podge will look like white glue when wet, but dries to a perfectly glossy finish.
That’s it! You now have glittered flip flops. Need more embellishment? Add a rhinestone or pretty button. Attach a fabric rosette or ribbon bow.
Have a happy, sparkly summer!
