Challenge of the Week{Summer Outdoor Decorating and Parties}

Welcome back to another fun  week! This one is summer outdoor decorating and party-licious! We can’t wait to see your inspiration! I love entertaining and when it can be done outside, I am all over it. It is even better with family that we don’t often see because we all live in different states. Last summer we had the opportunity to celebrate my cute niece’s b-day and in a very spur of the moment way, I did this fun craft with all of my nieces, nephews and my own kids. We had a blast!

This is a great kids craft that we did last summer with our family. We were celebrating my nieces 5th birthday. We made these easy paper sack pinatas that are so fun too. You can see the whole tutorial here.

For these pinatas you need:

-paper lunch sacks

– Tissue paper of all colors

– Glue stick for each child

– hole puncher

-Stapler

– String, yarn something to be able to hang the pinata amd tie it

For instructions on how to make these, click on the link above.

Each child’s pinata was different and unique to their style. This is my cutie niece and even her dress was perfect for our festivities. So cute!

And we made a birthday girl one that was made special for her.

To make the b-day girls pinata special, I made a medallion out of tissue paper and the big 5 out of construction paper. This was quick and easy, using supplies on hand.
Look at this cutie. I know what you are thinking, wow the CSI nieces are the cutest kids ever.
Weird, because that is what I was thinking!!!

Then, after we designed our pinatas we filled them with candy. Just fold down the top of the sack and staple. Then, punch holes on the top and string it up.
Not all of kept the candy in the pinata.
Insert nephew O.

Could you say no to this face?

Then, we took this party outside so we could destroy our creations. And the kids had a blast!

If you do not like the slaughter of innocent pinata’s then do not read any further. But if you love the sight of candy guts on the ground, then you are in for a treat.

Be sure to pick up every piece of candy and then we bagged up each child’s in plastic baggies.

I think this last picture sums up the family fun we had and just how happy this sweet birthday girl was!!!

I would highly recommend making these for kids birthday parties or for any family entertainment. It was so fun and each kid had a blast. It was a great mix of letting them explore that creative side of them and that just play side too.

I hope this week you will be inspired by the tutorials that we have each day. I hope you will come back and link up your own projects so you can inspire others too.
