Hi everyone!
It is Dee, your CSI Girl again with a BONUS tutorial.
It is, as you know, Back to School Week here at The CSI Project.
We have had some great tutorials. I hope they have inspired you.
Have you seen all of the crayon art that is out there? I was really inspired to make my own.
This can be a great teacher gift.
Just personalize it by adding the teacher’s name or name of school. Even your child’s grade and add a picture.
The possibilities are limitless with a little creativity.
This was easy to make too!
School Supplies, I mean Craft Supplies needed are:
~ Canvas of your choice
~ Box of 24 crayons{I used all but one. The white one}
~ hot glue
~ Ribbon, buttons or any embellishments you would like
~ Hair dryer or heat tool
I used my Wagner heat gun. I love this tool because it is perfect for crafting and taking off pesky labels.
You can find them here.
I started off with a blank canvas from my craft room and added this cute red ribbon to the top.
I did 3 strips and then hot glued these cute big buttons on. This just looks school-ish. Probably because of the primary colors.
Now, add the crayons with hot glue. I divided my crayons into color shades and then lined them up in a pattern.
All on and now the fun part. Be sure to grab a paper towel because the wax melts and could melt on your surface.
Keep the canvas upright and turn on heat tool or hair dryer.
I used a low setting because I wanted to control the wax a bit and not rush it.
I did one section at a time. I kept the heat gun up and going down onto crayons.
Let it dry and you are done.
Now, you can embellish however you like. Like I mentioned add the teacher’s name or school. Add a square of scrapbook paper and a picture of you kid. Then, with vinyl or more paper add the grade.
There are so many ways you can get creative with crayons and a canvas. Go ahead and try!
I also love this heart crayon art found here.
Be sure to Create. Share. Inspire someone today!
Hope you have a COLORFUL day!
Come on back tonight for the link party.
Let the competition begin!
