The challenge is over and now we take time out to focus on the non-crafty. I encourage everyone to live life in the chic’ lane.
So, are you living life in the chic lane?
The CSI Chic Chronicles is all about inspiring one another to live our lives in the chic lane

Have you ever thought you could do something that you never thought possible? Have you ever tried?
It’s true. Sometimes you’re going to want to give up, and you might even do it. But you have to keep moving forward. The world needs people who will change it and not just to blend in. The world needs people who will motivate each other and keep going after their dreams.

For me, it was conquering running. Oh, I said it. Running!
That dreaded activity. I have never liked running. Never ever. I played tennis and thought that was enough running for me. I have liked staying fit and I always have but running.
No, thank you.
So, it happened. There came a race that I thought looked so fun. Being a crafter, I love colors and I love paint so this race seemed fun and perfect for me.
It is called The Color Run.
Doesn’t this look so fun?
So, with this challenge before me I knew I needed to build up stamina to run the race. My goal is to run the whole thing so I set out to achieve this goal.
I am fortunate enough to live in a community that is fabulous. It is family friendly and very interactive. We aren’t just neighbors, we are friends. Facebook connects us which I think is a great way to communicate.
So, when I saw that an incredible woman in my community was putting together a running group for beginners, I jumped at the opportunity. I became a part of a group of ladies that encouraged me to seek out my running goals and make them happen. We started a Facebook group and each day encouraged each other to achieve our goals.
We called ourselves, Fit and Fab and I think we are!
When someone was having a hard time, there was always something posted to keep us motivated. Like this….
and this….
There are days I didn’t want to run. There are days I wanted to quit but I had set a goal and I was going to achieve it. Constantly telling myself, “I can do hard things. I can do hard things.”
We even had cute tank tops made with our running group name. Yes, clothes motivate me. I love wearing my cute shirt when I run.
Cute, huh?
My wonderful husband even ran along side of me and being the military man he is, he made up cadences about us and each member of our family to entertain me as we ran.
This was one of them:
“I love you, yes I do. Sound off!”
He is the best! And my biggest fan! Funny, I am his biggest FAN!
So, if there is something you have been wanting to achieve, I encourage you to do it!
Just do it!
If running is your goal, then lace up those shoes and let’s go. Set out a path and go for it.
If its something else, then have courage. Write down your goals and go after them.
If you do this, share with all of us here at The CSI Project. I will encourage you.
This post is not to encourage you to go out and run but to encourage you to set goals, work to achieve them and suceed!
I can tell you, however, that I feel better overall. I eat better and I have more energy now that I run. It is awesome!
But I live out the CSI mission and that is to simply Create.Share.Inspire but it is not only for our crafty lives. It is for all aspect of our lives.
Create your dreams and goals. Share them and encourage other and Inspire others.
“You can do hard things.”
Love to all,
Your running CSI Girl, Dee
I can’t wait to share pictures of the Color Run with you. EEK! SO excited!
