Washi Tape Dry Erase Board{Dukes and Duchesses}

I’m thrilled to be here at The CSI Project today … I always love the inspiration found at this site!

I’m Randi from Dukes and Duchesses and I’m sharing a simple washi tape project with you today: a washi tape dry erase board.

I loved having the chance to play with a selection of washi tape from Downtown Tape.  The colors and patterns are awesome {and extensive!} and the price is right.  If you’ve never checked out Downtown Tape as a washi tape source, you definitely want to pin it.

This project is not only simple but it’s super cost effective.  I used an old frame I had in the garage, some leftover spray paint, and two partial rolls of washi tape.  If you don’t have a stash of junk treasures like I do, you could always hit up a thrift store for a cheap frame.

I spray painted my frame with a glossy pink paint that coordinated well with the washi tape I chose.  I gave it a number of coats to make sure I had good coverage.

I used the old photo that was in the frame, turned it over {so the photo wouldn’t show through the somewhat translucent washi tape}, and covered it with strips of washi tape.  I love that these two washi tapes have different widths.

Once my frame was dry, I popped the washi tape-covered paper behind the glass …

… and that’s it: a super cute dry erase board.  Wouldn’t that be a fun and simple teacher appreciation gift?  Or a Christmas gift?

I’d love to hear if you make one.  And I’d love to see you over in my space of the web … pop in to Dukes and Duchesses to say hi!

Thanks, Randi! Always a joy to see your creations.
