Hi everyone, I’m Meredith from Wait ‘Til Your Father Gets Home! I love sewing, crafting, baking, and making delicious new recipes. I’m thrilled to be here today at The CSI Project sharing a super simple idea for creating a Christmas Countdown for your family.
To make this countdown, you’ll need:
25 small Kraft Envelopes {found in the card making section of Michael’s}
cute Christmas stickers
Christmas card stock/scrapbook paper {you’ll want a few different designs}
number stickers or stamps {1-25}
hole punch
paper cutter & scissors
Christmas ribbon/baker’s twine
binder ring
I started by measuring the size of the envelope on my scrapbook paper and cutting small pieces to insert into each envelope.
I then punched a hole through the corner of each envelope.
And got busy decorating the front of each envelope as well. I wanted to keep it simple, so I added a sticker for the day {I used a variety of number stickers I already had} and a cute Christmas sticker as well.
Once all the envelopes were decorated, I began coming up with a list of Christmas Countdown activities to do each day leading up to Christmas!
Once every envelope had an activity it was time to assemble the countdown. I used a binder ring to hold them all together and added a few pieces of cut ribbon and baker’s twine to fancy it up a bit.
I hung ours on our tree, so we can open a new envelope each morning when we wake up!
If you’d rather put these all on display you could easily hang the envelopes individually down a staircase, across your mantel, or even as individual ornaments on a small tree! My favorite part of this project is that it doubles as a handmade ornament!
Thank you so much for having me today! If you’d like to pay me a visit, you can reach me at my blog, on Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest! Can’t wait to “meet” you!!
Merry Christmas!
