In less than a week, we will be celebrating the day that marks the beginning of our nation’s freedoms. Due to the sacrifices of brave men and women, we can enjoy the freedoms that we have as citizens of this great country. Still today, we have even more brave men and women who continue to fight for those freedoms.
In 1776, a committee of five gathered to draft the Declaration of Independance. John Adams wrote a letter to his wife telling her about this monunmental event and what it would mean for this nation.
“It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of
devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and
parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and
illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this
time forward forever more.“
He predicted that one day we would celebrate this event and I think he would be proud of a nation that still celebrates the sacrifices that were made so long ago. Today, I want to celebrate one particular freedom that so many of us enjoy. That is the freedom to pursue education. We have the right and freedom to attend college and learn skills that will help us as we pursue careers. I want to introduce to you, The Shine Project.
This non profit organization helps students go to college. Most of these students are the first in their families to ever do this. They are making history and beating all odds stacked against them. The Shine Project also employs them by providing them jobs with Threads.
 They make bracelets. necklaces and More! They add new products all the time and with each purchase you are helping a student reach their goal of attending college. Today I want to show you the new Shine on America  t-shirt they have available. It is here just in time for the 4th of July. When I first saw them, I knew I had to have one and I am always willing to support The Shine Project.
