Stars and Stripes{The CSI Girl}

Happy holiday week!It is Dee, your CSI Girl here with a patriotic craft of my own. One of my favorite lines of the national anthem is “Home of the brave.” Could be because I am so grateful for brave men like Mr. CSI.

 Brave men and women are the reason why we celebrate this great country and all of our freedoms.

So, I wanted to make an American flag craft with that line.

 I upcylcled a painting that I got for free. I knew I would do something with it one day.

Here is what it looked like before I sprayed it:

After painting it I drew my lines and painted the stripes white. I used spray adhesive and put on some ruffle fabric I had laying around. I went to my craft stash and pulled out some wood stars and I admit I thought about this for a while. Sure I could paint them white. I could add a button or ribbon. But then it came to me, why not use my wood burning tool and write on them. I love my wood burning tool.

“….And the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air. Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there….”

Get those Red, White and Blue projects ready!

I can’t wait to see what you have created!
