The competition is over! The projects are in and our fabulous guest judge is visiting blogs and making her picks! Good luck, Megan!
How about a BONUS project! It isn’t wedding related but it is a fun technique that I am going to show you. In the CSI house we have 2 dogs and 2 cats. I can honestly say they are all very spoiled and very loved. One of the dogs is a Maltipoo named Snoopy.

We got Snoopy because his original owner couldn’t keep him due to the fact that her older male dog was beating him up everyday. So, he joined our family and our dog, Hope. Soon they were very best friends!

Snoopy will be turning 2 this month so I decided to create a portrait of him using a fun technique.

Do I dare admit I kinda, sorta cheated?
I am not an artist by any stretch of the imagination but I do love to paint.
So, I used this technique found at First Home….Love, Life and decided to create my own.
I will show you what I mean.
All you need for this project is:
* Blank canvas
* Paint of your choice
* Printer
* Picture of your pet
* Mod Podge
I started off painting my canvas the color I wanted and added fun dots.

Now, using your printer, print out the picture of your choice. I used this one.

I cut out just his face. This was challenging because he has some wild hair. This pic was taken after his bath.
Isn’t he adorable?
Grab your Mod Podge and glue on your canvas. I positioned the pic where I wanted it.
I like the whimsy look!
This is what the before looks like without paint.

Make sure to seal the edges with mod podge because you want this to look like your really painted it from nothing. Remember we are kinda, sort of cheating.
Now, onto the painting. I painted the details like his hair and outlined his eyes, nose, mouth. I also outlined the whole pic with a brown color. The trick is to make sure the features are defined with paint.

I had fun with the brush strokes and making his hair wispy. I felt like a real artist.
Sometimes you have to fake it until you make it, right?
Did I mention how adorable he is?
I may have a time or two.
Even if you don’t feel like an artist, you can still take the CSI Project motto and apply it to your life.
Have courage!
You can Create, Share and you never know who you will Inspire!
