Bonus Craft Tutorial{Vintage Library Cards}

This was a great week and a great challenge!

Thank you to all who linked up and to our fabulous guest judge who is making those difficult picks.

We wish you luck!

The competition may be over but I am back with a bonus craft tutorial.

I was inspired by these lovely vintage library cards and after a year of owning them, I decided to craft something up.

I ordered them from Plaid Barn.

You can also find some on Etsy.

I created 2 books to document memories in.

I created one for me and Mr. CSI. It is perfect for writing love notes to one another.

Guess what?

There are already love notes written in there. Yay!

I also created one for our CSI 4th grader. She can now document her favorite memories of the year.

I just love the look of the old library cards from my childhood. I love finding new ways to keep those memories of the year. These are kind of like mini scrapbooks or Smash Books.

Since I was using items I already had in my home, I need a way to bind the book. I decided to use the metal part of a clothespin.

After one fell apart on me, I was inspired. Lucky accident!

Just take the metal part out and use put through the holes.

To see the full tutorial, watch the video below.

Other than the washi tape I bought from Michael’s, this project cost me $0.

It is also gratifying to know that I used the library cards to make something cute.

I tend to buy from those craft deal a day sites and not use them. I just see something I love and have to have it.

Am I the only one?

Do I need an intervention?

Be sure to come back tomorrow morning to see the winners of the Thrift Store Turnarounds Challenge!
