I had the opportunity to relax in a beautiful place called
Palm Springs, CA.
A rental home became a little slice of heaven.
I had time to think, reflect and most importantly I noticed life.
Let me set the scene.
A pool. Sunshine. Golf Course.Breakfast and lunch pool side. Palm Trees swaying in the wind. The sound of a waterfall.
It was glorious.
Sometimes it takes getting away from the hustle and bustle of life to notice just that.
Over the past few months, I have really stopped to take the time to notice life. I challenged myself.
I have watched the sunset over the desert.
I have laid on my back on the trampoline with my family listening to my husband tell us what each star was.
I have danced with my husband as he sings to me.
I have heard a child’s laughter.
I have felt the sun on my face.
I have felt the wind moving all around me.
I did all of things which may seem normal but I challenged myself to really take them in. To take a snap shot for my memory.
I noticed life.
What have I learned, you may wonder.
I learned never to miss life’s small joys while searching for the big ones.
Revel in the beauty of these simple life moments and let them inspire you to be the best, most positive version of YOU!
While I was in Palm Springs, I watched the same couple walk their dog around the golf course everyday. They walked and talked. One let the small dog chase him and I heard laughter. The laughter of a small joy.
Sometimes in life we wait on the BIG joys to come or what we think would be BIG joys. Then, we realize that we might have missed all of the small joys in between.
Gratitude helps us notice those.
Gratitude for the small joys.
Grateful people don’t just happen. They become.
Through the struggles, through the defeat, through loss and climbing out of the depths of despair.
Through the life’s joy, triumphs, the beginnings of a new family, the birth of a child, laughing with your best friend or hugging someone you love.
They gain appreciation, sensitivity and an understanding of life that creates a more humble, more grateful person.
Grateful people love deeply.
Grateful people love often.
Every day I remind myself to Choose Happiness.
Choose to notice the small joys. When the big joys of life come your way, you will be that more grateful.
If we simply let the small moments pass us by then life will pass us by.
For that couple in Palm Springs walking their dog may seem like a small thing. Even a mundane everyday activity but I remember watching them and the lesson I learned has changed me for the better.
It is all around you. In the people you love. In the smallest of joys.
Always remember to Create, Share and Inspire!
