I am a person that believes that we can go through hard times and come out even stronger. We can also be inspired to help others and open our hearts.
Remembering the BIG giraffe…..
I spent some time in the Children’s hospital in my home town and it certainly made me see children who spend time in the hospital in a different light.
I remember my time in the hospital and I especially remember the BIG painted giraffe on the wall. I would stare that thing all day. In an all white room it brought color into me and my family’s hard days.
Just as a friend of mine said the other day about her own son being in the hospital, “It’s the little things that mean so much.”
How YOU can be involved with Giraffe Grins?
This October, we are kicking off our annual Holiday Pillowcase Drive.
* You can mail us already bright, cheerful sewn pillowcases (Standard Size)* You can mail us fabric. (1 yard makes 1 pillowcase)
* If you are local to Arizona, you can come to our sewing day. Bring fabric or buy fabric there at JoAnn’s and bring your own sewing machine.
* Tell many, many friends and spread the word about Giraffe Grins.
We need people who are willing to sew and fabric donations because this year we will be giving to Children’s hospitals in Arizona, Ronald McDonald House and we added an orphanage in Mexico. I will be delivering them a couple of week’s before Christmas to the hospital and Orphanage. I will take many photos of the grins that you help create.

It is with a sincere and humble heart that I ask for your fabric donations, help in any way and talented sewers to help spread the Giraffe Grins this year. We have added more locations and that means we can touch more kids and their families. It also means we will be brightening up many, many hospital rooms and that makes me so happy! We can make a difference in the life of a child who may be going through the hardest trial of their little lives. Together we can all help! Pillowcases may seem like a small way but the grins that we see after delivering makes me realize that it is the little things that can brighten someone’s day!
As we go into this holiday season, may we remember those going through hard times and do what we can. Giraffe Grin’s mission is to share the grins and spread holiday cheer!
