Halloween Season has begun!
Hip Hip Hooray!
Let the decorating, costume planning and treat making begin!
I had this mirror from our dresser just laying around. I knew I could upcycle it into something and with Halloween on my mind, I knew just what to make.
I took out the glass and started the painting.
I used Rustoleum gray paint and this
Perfect for a DIY tombstone. I sprayed with regular gray first and then used the textured paint.
After a trip to Michael’s, I added letters.
I wanted a name for the tombstone and after a high school flashback, I had one.
Disclaimer: If you by chance went to Monterey High School or you are my mother, I apologize in advance. My mother not only went to this school but she also worked there. Double whammy!
In high school, our rival was a school called Monterey. Every year when we played them, we had a very morbid themed pep rally. Think dancing to Michael Jackson’s Thriller with zombies and a tombstone with Mont E. Rey on it.
So, here we go. I added the words and the cross, then painted.
I added it to the collection of tombstones I already had on the porch.
I am so happy this old mirror has a new lease on life as a tombstone. Perfect for my Halloween porch
aka grave yard
