Donut Box Valentine

I live and {craft} in a small but beautiful town. We have a grocery store, a McDonald’s, a gas station and wait for a it………we have a Dunkin’ Donuts!

Very Exciting!

I think this is a good thing because I enjoy donuts.

Really, really love them but this is also a bad thing because it is in the same parking lot as my bank. So, I now make excuses to go to the bank and conveniently in the morning when a donut would just hit the spot.

So, when DD came out with heart shaped donuts, I had a Valentine idea inspired by my love for donuts.

Don’t throw away that box!

Paint it and give a Valentine sweet treat to your special somebody, your mama, your sister, the mail man, your cousins uncle twice removed…..ANYONE for that matter!

You get it!

And you can even ask them to be your Valentine with it!

All I did was paint the box after eating a dozen donuts. I had help.

Sort of. Don’t judge me!

On the inside, I simply wrote “Will you be my Valentine?”

I love this easy project because it reminds me of my childhood. I lived near a home town donut shop and my mom would often buy us donuts on Saturday mornings. A box just like this would appear on our kitchen table and it was a weekend treat.

Well, I guess times haven’t changed or maybe I have stayed true to myself. That little girl that loved seeing a box of donuts on the table, is still in me.

So, here is a special Valentine message to my mother.

“Thanks for all of the special, yet small gestures of love you showed us{your family of 4}. So much of who I am and what I do is because of you and so much sweetness from every childhood memory is because of you. You are my eternal Valentine, Mom. You showed me love from even before you saw me and every moment after that. Now when I have an usual love for donuts, I just say I get it honestly. They remind me of you and your loving gestures that you always showed. I now know what it is like to want to go out of your way to please your kids simply because you love to see them happy. I get it now and I appreciate the time it took you to do those small acts of love. And yes, I blame you for my love of donuts but in a good way. Love you!”- Your donut loving, crafting daughter and Valentine this year and every year

Who is your valentine and how will you show them you love them?

It could be something so simple as a donut box you decorated.

Always remember to Create, Share and Inspire!
