Sometimes you just need a cute organizer for all of the pens, markers and other things that seem to find a home on your desk.
And that is not even talking about the kids messes- ahem. I mean kids stuff. Like markers, pencils and crayons. Why not let them help you create one?
Last fall, I took my mom to a historical mission where I live. The lady there gave us a ton of candles. I, of course, saw crafting opportunities so I gladly took them.
Not being Catholic, I don’t know who St. Jude is or how he helps people but maybe he helped me craft. Maybe….possibly.
Anyway, that story was just to tell you, “Hey, I got candles.”
Along with the candles or any container you like to upcycle, you need……
– Paint
– q tips
– a paper plate
– Glue
And the obvious things like scissors and paint brushes.
One of the little CSI kids and I created 2.
One was kinda fat and one was skinny. The skinny one is a girl. Hmmm. See the bow!
Every girl needs a cute bow….and glitter, and lip gloss, and leopard print.
Cut the paper plate so it looks like feather. Then, paint.
Paint the body and glue on feathers and q tips. Add eyes.
There are more kinds of birds to make. We thought of several and I still have a ton of candles so the possibilities are endless.
The moral of this post is not just that this is a good kids craft idea and functional that even a mom could love it and the purpose it serves, but my other point is that I love when kids are creative and crafty. Encourage creativity and do it often!
Always remember to Create, Share and Inspire!
