With every new season, I like to transform my front porch. I always have pillows on my bench but I don’t want to spend a ton of money on pillows with each changing season. Not only that, but I think about storage and I don’t want to store pillows each time either.
So, I try to cover them but not in a permanent way. They are also pillows that can be exposed to the elements during the season whether that is sun, rain or wind, so I want a material that will be sturdy. For this fall season, I came up with a solution that fits all of my needs.
I found these cute tote bags at Hobby Lobby at $3.99 each. So, I got 3 for $12. Which is basically a yard and 1/2 of fabric. But this option is a no sew and its canvas. So, they are a durable fabric. I chose the chevron for pattern mixing and because I used them for Halloween as well. Double Holiday duty! I like it!
This process was so easy and so fast. After fall and Halloween, I can remove the pillows and fold up the tote bags for storage. I am on the look out for Christmas tote bags so I can easily transition my pillows into Christmas season.
Now, for the rest of my porch.
This sign was an easy and fast craft. Found the wood at Wal-Mart and added the paint. Easy!
Yellow Lantern was a Pick Your Plum find and my fabric is from JoAnn.
I also have my new Fall DIY Wreath that I will share with ya next week. It is a beauty!
Stay tuned!
It may not be technically fall yet and especially not in Arizona. But we are making our way there with 90 degree and even 88 degree temps so I am hoping. It is still monsoon season so the rain is comforting and feels fall-ish.
Try this unique way to cover your pillows for each new season or holiday. No need to spend a ton on pillows and take up space in storage, when you don’t have to. Hope this idea works for all of ya’ll too!
You can say a lot about the CSI Girl and her home, but one thing is for sure, my front fall front porch welcomes you!
Happy Fall Ya’ll!
