Now, let me show you this cute craft kit!
First up is Vanessa!
Are you getting ready for Thanksgiving? With Thanksgiving just two weeks away, I am thinking about what special touches I would love to incorporate this year. I love to celebrate each holiday as it comes. I could never jump over Thanksgiving and start decorating for Christmas when Thanksgiving hasn’t passed. It feels weird to me and besides I love to enjoy each holiday. After all, the holidays are about family, love, being grateful and enjoying every moment. So with this in mind, today I am sharing a sweet centerpiece I created to go on my dining table this year.
Supplies I used:
- Wooden Turkey
- Paints and paint brushes
- Gold charger
- Fabric or ribbon
I first painted a base coat in the color of “warm buff” by Apple Barrel to each piece. Next I dry brushed the colors sweet potato, spiced berry, nutmeg brown, vivid orange and metallic inca gold. Once I was done dry brushing each piece, I gently sanded each piece to give it a worn effect.
I do love the look of gold, so I added these circles to the tail part of the turkey. I love that pop of gold!
Once everything was dry, it was time to assemble all the pieces together. Here is what the wooden turkey looks like before I assembled it.
I do love how this centerpiece turned out. This will go on the dining table along with flowers and some candles. What I love about this piece is I can take it apart and add it to a wreath or turn it into a wall hanging. If I get tired of the colors I can always repaint as well. This wooden turkey will keep on giving for years to come. To check out some of my other projects stop by DIY180 or my Pinterest, Facebook or Instagram. Thank you for having me and Happy Thanksgiving!

Katie from Tied Ribbon, also DIY Blog Editor, created her own turkey using the craft turkey kit.
That glitter is divine!
I also created my own turkey using scrapbook paper and Mod Podge.
You can use a pumpkin as a base or do what Vanessa did and create a turkey with just the parts. Be Creative!
