Winter Wreath

Now is the time to head to Michael’s and get Christmas florals that are perfect for the winter months and pick up some ribbon. I found this pink velvet ribbon in the Christmas clearance.

Floral picks and floral as a whole can be expensive so get to shopping. I love to pick up red ribbon for Valentine’s Day as well. Plan ahead!

You will also need a wire wreath, floral wire and hot glue.

I started out using 2 floral picks and attaching them with the floral wire. Reinforce with hot glue if needed.

I lined them up across from each other and filled in using the other winter floral I had. I left space for a bow. Remember, that you can fill in after your have everything attached. I continued to fill in using the floral pick after I attached everything including the bow. Fill in until you are satisfied or you run out of materials.

I hear people say wreaths are intimidating to make but the trick is to plan it out before you attach anything.

Just because I loved the ribbon so much, I ruffled it and added to the tops of the wreath on both sides. Glue down, roll ribbon and glue again.

I love making wreaths because as you create, add or take away, it truly becomes your original creation. After I took down all of my Christmas decorations from my front porch, I love adding an elegant touch of winter to a now bare porch.

Hope you have a great start to a wonderful year and add a winter beauty to your door!
