Fence Post Upcycle

Can you have too many hearts on a Valentine project? Asking for a friend.

I don’t know why but when I saw this at a thrift store, I wanted to do something with it. Upcycle magic! Upcycle potential! Challenge accepted!

From this…….

To this…..Valentine Ready!

Meet Miss Love Bug

She wants to know if you will accept this rose?

After I took everything off of the fence post, I started with paint for her face and body.

I used black pipe cleaners for her arms and lady bug antenna’s. The wings are Dollar Tree hearts and the rose came from there also. On the post was a nail already so I took floral wire and wrapped the rose around it. I hot glued her hands on it so it looks like she is holding it.

All the glittery hearts came from Dollar Tree. I felt like she needed more glitz and glamour, so I added deco mesh  from Michael’s .

The technique to the mesh is the same as the wreaths. Make a poof and tie with wire. Keep going. Then, I glued on her back.

Every girl needs a touch of pizazz, a touch of Va-Va-Voom!

Here is a side by side look. From Americana to Valentine’s chic.

So, I ask you again. How many hearts is too many hearts? I say as many as you want. Miss Love Bug would agree and she hopes to find a place on the porch this Valentine holiday!
