When planning my dining room table for any holiday, I think about everything I already have to decorate with and keeping it simple. Keeping it cheap for lack of a better term. Spring leads into Easter and so with this table, I created a centerpiece I could use for both. All I have to do is change out my place settings and add in a few Easter decor. Easy!
I started with book pages as my inspiration. I bought a book at the Thrift store and tore out some pages. Rolled them added distress. The book pager runner I had made years ago for a book club event.
The garland I found at JoAnn’s for 40% off. Garlands can beautiful draped down a table. I also collected thrift store gold candle holders. I love the way they look on a table and how none of them match. The candles can be bought at Dollar Tree.
Now, for the place settings, the plates I used are yellow and blue on a burlap charger. I also found these cute paper plates with a bunny and thought he looked like spring so i added him. Also I used an orange linen napkin.
For Easter, I am going to keep the charger, blue and yellow plates and add Easter napkins as well as an Easter plates I found at thrift store. On the charger, I am going to use a place mat from Home Goods.
By using the same plates and centerpiece, I am saving time and getting to enjoy this table all spring. Decorate smart and make the most of what you have!
Thank you for joining me for this tale of 2 place settings.
Happy Spring, crafty friends!
